Iowa's sTEP (special Traffic Enforcement Program) invites statewide participation by all law enforcement in Iowa in a cooperative “high visibility” traffic enforcement effort coordinated around a holiday. March 14-17 is the first wave of 2018. These events call for heightened traffic enforcement for all traffic violations especially drunk driving and vehicle occupants not wearing a seat belt. Unpaid parking tickets? Don't let this happen to you. Vehicles will be towed from public locations if the vehicle has 2 or more unpaid and past due parking tickets. Parking tickets are due within 30days of receiving a ticket.

Fog remains this morning, please use your HEADLIGHTS. Daytime running lights do NOT illuminate your tailights. Make sure you are being seen from both directions. Manually turn on your headlights.

Today Officer Ford began teaching the D.A.R.E. program to 5th grade students at Lisbon Elementary. This is Officer Ford's 11th year of teaching D.A.R.E., but the first year at Lisbon. Do you know a 5th grader? Be sure and ask them what they are learning!

As a reminder, the City of Lisbon does have an Ordinance on the Operation of Snowmobiles. Snowmobiles may only be operated on; designated trails, land owned or possessed by the person operating or riding on said snowmobile, or with permission of the land owner which a snowmobile is being operated or ridden on. Riding through a yard without permission of the owner may constitute a charge of Trespass. Be respectful of private property.

*NEW* SNOW EMERGENCY begins tonight!

Haven't shoveled your sidewalk since Monday's snowstorm? Then be on the look out for this coming to your door. More snow is on the way Thursday night through Friday. Get out and clear those walks before even more is added.

We agree!

At tonight's City Council meeting, Chief Scott provided the Council with a K9 demonstration using his K9 partner Rico. Rico demonstrated his narcotics detection skills as well as his apprehension ability.

PLEASE TAKE NOTE 69.05: Parking for Certain Purposes Illegal. "No person shall park a vehicle upon public property for more than 48 hours."
