Local 8th grade girls came together for the annual event organized by our School Resource Officer's this weekend. This year's "Youth Night Out" was filled with fun games, Zumba, hot wing eating contest, motivational speakers and hair styling at the Caldwell YMCA. Two Sandpoint PD officers were shot while responding to a call early last night. Please join us in showing your support for our fellow Idaho law enforcement officers.

This afternoon we celebrated the promotion of Officer Jeff Jensen to Corporal, honored Corporal Mike Eldridge and Detective Larimer with the Unit Citation. We presented our newest Animal Control Officer Dawn Cardoza with her CPD badge and commended Sgt. Garza, Sgt. Sperry, Detective Watson, Officer McGrew and Victim Witness Coordinator Liz Godina for their tremendous effort in tracking and capturing a sexual assault suspect who fled the state to Oklahoma in an attempt to evade arrest. Great work team!

Corporal Lewis and Officer Swim spent their Thursday morning hanging with the kids at Heritage Charter School!!! Unfortunately they had to start handling calls before lunch so they missed out on the Idaho haystacks and cheese yum yums!

The spouses of CPD employees, aka “42 Crew”, had their first meeting Saturday morning which included coffee, pastries and a lot of great conversation! The “42 Crew” is another extension of our CPD family and was created in an effort to include officers spouses in the conversation of how we, as a department, can better take care of each other and our community! #42Crew

McGruff and Community Service Officer Melissa are at Sacajawea Elementary School until 2 today. They are hanging out with the kids while parents are getting information on a program the City of Caldwell has in place for elementary students called Caldwell Saves 1st. Chief Wyant, Captain Riley and Lt Hoadley had the privilege of spending the day at the Capitol building and meeting with ldaho’s great leaders as part of the Idaho Chiefs of Police Association winter conference. ICOPA is comprised of police chiefs from agencies through Idaho. Thank you to Governor Otter, Lt Governor Little, Senator Lodge and all of the others who took the time to hear our public safety concerns on behalf of local law enforcement. #ICOPA

Ross Garven was presented CPD’s 2017 “Citizen of the Year” award for his countless hours spent organizing and participating in graffiti clean up throughout Caldwell. Thank you Ross for your dedication and commitment to Caldwell!

Celebrating the retirements of our CPD family members Sharon Rowley and Cpl Ed Adams. Thank you both for your many years of service and you will be dearly missed!!!

Tonight is the last shift for Corporal Ed Adams (pictured center). After 23 years of service in the United States Army followed by 17 years with CPD, Corporal Adams is finally hanging up his duty belt and retiring. We wish him well and thank him for 40 years of combined service to his country and community. This is what heroes are made of! Congratulations Cpl Adams!!!
