On Sunday, 01/22/17, there was a call that occurred near the city of Wilder. The call was a report of an attempted kidnapping and was investigated by the Canyon County Sheriff's Office deputies and detectives. After the investigation was concluded, the kidnapping was unfounded and the case was closed. This post is meant to ease the minds of the Wilder community and to assure that, as far as this case is concerned, there is nothing to be worried about.

No school for Wilder or COSSA Academy and Preschool. Please be safe out there as the roads are very slick.

There have been a series of vehicle burglaries in the Greenleaf area within the last couple of weeks. All of the vehicles were unlocked. Please be diligent in locking your car doors as thieves are opportunists. They will look for the easy target. Also, make sure to secure anything on your property that you do not want taken. Please report suspicious activity around your area by calling (208) 454-7531 or in the event of an emergency, dial 911. If you have any knowledge or information about these burglaries, please let us know by calling the dispatch non-emergency line, listed above.

We want to wish you all a Merry Christmas!

If you must travel this holiday weekend please be careful. Give yourselves extra time and a safe distance from the car in front of you. Stay safe.

We want thank the community and all those that gave to help the family in need. The great support we received in short notice, just goes to prove what a great community this is. The Wilder citizens are great and we appreciate you!
