FYI - a good APP to track your Com Ed power status can be downloaded at the Apple APP store (this is not a product of the Village of Bannockburn). While the Village monitors power status, Com Ed is the main go to for getting power restored. However, if you see dangerous situations due to the power being out, please dial 911. https://itunes.apple.com/us/app/comed-an-exelon-company/id519716176?mt=8

At 400pm Com Ed’s storm / outage map notes that there are about 402 people without power. Estimated restoration is 5:15pm. Check out outagemap.comed.com for more information (or use the Com Ed App) Also the stop lights at Route 22 and Lakeside Drive are not working due to the power outage so you may have to consider alternative routes.

We understand that power is out on Bridle Lane, Half Day Road and Dunsinane Lane as of 3:30. Please contact ComEd to report any power outages via your smart phone App or 1-800-edison1. We are not aware of the reason for the outage or timing for resolution of power being restored.

We were informed that there will be a prairie burn today (controlled burn), April 26, till about 4pm. This is done by the Lake County Forest Preserve and will occur at the Forest Preserve property along Duffy Road near the Reservoir (along the Tollway).

Another opportunity for some light snow exists. It’s cold outside and the roads are slick because the salt is less effective so please drive carefully should we see any accumulations.

This year’s Holiday Hayride was a huge success. Even Santa dropped by for a quick ride around town. The weather cooperated and everyone had a great time, young and old alike. Thank you President Rothing for making this annual event a Bannockburn tradition.
