Drone footage of the final 2 stacks being brought down at AEP Tanners Creek Plant. Wednesday April 18, 2018 https://youtu.be/LVfnePJu4yk

We created a video with information about what to do in case you are stopped by a Law Enforcement Officer. We understand that this can be a stressful situation, but hopefully, if you understand what is going to go on, everyone can stay safe.

LPD along with the Lawrenceburg School Corporation will be conducting safety drills in each school at different times today. These drills will involve radio broadcasts, Officers in the schools, and other scenario events.

We have been notified of a local resident being called from a restricted number. The caller attempted to extort money from the resident, telling her that they had kidnapped her children. If you receive this call, please confirm the safety of your children, or the person they claim to have kidnapped before taking any action. Do not share any identifying information, bank or credit card information with the caller.

Lawrenceburg Police drone footage of the stack demolition at AEP. Apologies for the shaky footage it’s a bit windy up there.

The concrete stack will come down tomorrow, March 14th, 2018 at 9 am. For those wishing to view the demolition near the plant, the best place to park is at the Walnut St Parking Garage. You can then walk down the levee towards the power plant to observe from there. Safety boundaries will be enforced to keep the viewing public safe. Traffic notice: AEP Drive will be closed to vehicle traffic at Front St at 6 am March 14th, 2018.

Prayers to Boone County (IN) Deputy Jacob Pickett's family, blood and blue.

UPDATE: The times are the same, the dates will be Thursday March 1st through Saturday March 3rd.

Stateline Rd has re-opened.

LPD investigated a crash that occurred at the Lawrenceburg Primary School on 2/15/18 at approximately 3:40 pm. One of the vehicles involved left the scene. The vehicle that left was described as a white or silver truck with a possible Indiana disabled license plate of D769TK driven by an older female. That plate does not return to a vehicle. We believe that the driver may not have been aware that she struck another vehicle. If you have any information as to the identity of the driver or vehicle, please contact Capt. Brian Miller at 812-537-2284.
