*Update: Owner has been located. Thank you for the assistance. Is this your dog? This guy was found at Dollar General in Elwood this evening. One of the employees has been kind enough to take him home for the evening until the owner can be located. If this is your dog, please contact the Elwood Police Department by calling dispatch at 765-642-0221. Proof of ownership will be required.

The Elwood Police Department would like to extend our thoughts and prayers to everyone effected by the tragic events that took place in Las Vegas last night.

ATTENTION: *Scam Alert* Citizens have been receiving calls from individuals stating that they've won close to a million dollars and a new car. They are advising that the car is closely located to your home, so they will deliver the car to you for a fee which they claim they will collect upon delivery. Please be reminded DO NOT release any personal information to anyone over the telephone. Please report any calls received to the Indiana Attorney General's Office.

Today officers enjoyed spending time with some special Elwood Elementary School students. The students wanted to ride with the officers in their police cars to eat lunch at Mr. Happy Burger. Special thanks to Mrs. Groover and the staff at EES and to Mr. Happy Burger! Everyone had a great time!

Busy night results in multiple arrests for Elwood PD.

Prayers go out to the family and friends of Deputy Dave Morgan and the Madison County Sheriffs Department after his sudden passing earlier today. Deputy Morgan served the citizens of Madison County for several years and was assigned to the Northwest portion of the county which covers Elwood. Rest easy Deputy Morgan, we'll take it from here.

On September 7th, the Elwood Police Department had the pleasure of assisting the Tipton Narcotics Team (TNT) in the execution of three simultaneous search warrants at various locations in Tipton. As a result of the two month long investigation and the subsequent search warrants, six arrests were made. Great work TNT.
