HPD was asked to pass this along. Tonight, folks will up and down Madison Ave. tying blue ribbons in support of Lt. Allan, his family, and in support of local law enforcement. There should be 4"x5" decals available in exchange for donations and possibly at National Night Out. The proceeds are to donated to the Family of Lt. Allan. While this is not technically an endorsement of HPD, it is an amazing gesture of how the community can reach out and try to do something positive for those impacted the most from the tragedy. I, for one, will be looking for one of these for my car.

Our thoughts and prayers lay with the Dallas PD, The Citizens of Dallas, and the Nation as a whole tonight. It is easy to look past this and say, "This doesn't affect me; This isn't where I live," as we are disconnected from the situation at hand. However, the truth is, it could easily be your city, your neighborhood, your back yard. We must find a way to come together as a Nation, a State, a City, a Community. Love thy Neighbor...

National Police Week 2016 Sunday, May 15, 2016 through Saturday, May 21, 2016

Homecroft Police Department extends its condolences to the family of Fallen HCSD Deputy Carl Koontz and to the members of the Howard County Sheriff's Department.

HPD officer's personal vehicle was vandalized last night by having his "thin blue line" plate and plate holder ripped off the bumper. We should mention this was done in his driveway at home which is not in the town limits. We should be supporting police officers in every community, not using the exploitation of recent events to target them or use it as an excuse for general lawlessness. #supportlawenforcement
