The Town of Versailles and The Versailles Police Department would like to take this time to personally thank each and every person for your overwhelming response to our request for assistance in identifying the suspect in the surveillance video of the male that was passing the counterfeit money. Due to your help we have developed some very good leads. THANK YOU !

The Versailles Police Department is seeking information as to the identity of this male who is wanted in questioning in reference to a counterfeiting case that we are investigating. Several businesses in the Versailles area have been victim to receiving counterfeit money recently. Any and all help is greatly appreciated and can be 100% anonymous (812) 689-6122

The Versailles Police Department is once again accepting applications for the full time Deputy Marshal position. Applicants must be at least 21 years of age, have a valid drivers license, must be able to pass a criminal background check, physical agility testing, and submit to drug screening. Persons interested in this position can pick up an application at the Versailles Town Hall and or the Versailles Police Department. All applications must be returned with a resume. The Versailles Police Department is needing your help with an investigation into a burglary that occurred sometime on the night of November 5 or early morning hours of November 6. The Waste Water sewage plant was burglarized and several items were stolen and vandalized. During the burglary the suspect(s) came into contact with strains of E. coli that were in an incubator so they need to seek medical attention immediately!!

Versailles Deputy Marshal Alex Hafft along with reserve deputies Cody Federmann and Bleu DeWire from Ripley County Sheriff Office started their 40 hour pre-basic course for new recruits on May 20, 2016. During this course they will learn criminal and traffic law, firearms, emergency vehicle operations, physical tactics and numerous other things. So far the class has been going very well and I am pleased to welcome these three men into the brotherhood

Tomorrow April 30, 2016, I will be at the CVS in Versailles from 1:00 pm till 5:00 pm. Taking part in the National Drug Take Back. Bring all of your old and or unwanted medications in for proper disposal

The hiring process for the Deputy Marshal is now finished. I had several very good applicants competing for the deputy spot. The hiring board was put together using Versailles Town Board Members Steve Mathes and Brian Samples as well as Sgt Hamilton from the BATESVILLE Police Department, Deputy Marshal Jeff Thielking South Ripley School Resource Officer, and myself. I first want to thank the Ripley County Sheriffs Department and the Indiana State Police for helping cover Versailles in our time of need. I want to thank Batesville Police Department for all of their help during the hiring process, and the hiring board for helping in the decision making process . THANK YOU ALL!!! The physical agility testing went well today I want to thank the South Ripley School Corporation for the use of the track and the Tyson Activity Center for the use of the gym. I also want to thank the Ripley County Sheriff Department for all their help today

Saturday March 26, 2016 is the date for physical agility testing. I have sent out invitations to 11 applicants. We are getting closer to hiring a new police officer

We quit taking applications for the Deputy Marshal position on March 14. Now the hiring process officially begins. Hopefully Versailles will have a new deputy very soon!!

The Versailles Town Hall now accepts credit/ Debit cards so you can now pay your water, sewer, and trash bills on line by using the towns website or by using your card in person or by phone.
