By now, most of you have probably heard about Equifax (One of the major credit bureaus) had a security breach. They are estimating that 143 million (more or less) may have had their personal information (credit accounts, social security numbers, etc,) compromised. Equifax has set up a web page for consumers to check to see if their information was potentially compromised. https://www.equifaxsecurity2017.com/potential-impact/ Click on this link, it will take you directly there. You can also sign up for credit monitoring to assist in keeping an eye on your accounts. As always, when dealing with personal information on the internet, please make sure the web page starts with https not http If there is no "S" at the end, the web page is NOT secure. - Chris

It's getting hot out today, so if you're out and about, stop by 8th Street and Walnut Drive and pick up a glass of lemonade or limeade from this girl. She's quite the little sales person, and has a really good product! 👍🏻👍🏻 Chris Smee

Yesterday I personally received this e-mail. Now, besides the obvious that this message did not come from a ruraltel.net address. (It came from holyspirit@windstream.net ) I still contacted Nex-Tech and asked them if this was legit. I was told that Nex-Tech does NOT limit your e-mail storage. So, PLEASE, DO NOT click on the link, and DO NOT type in your log in information. This seems to be some sort of phishing scam. - Chris Smee

We know many of you were in Manhattan this last weekend for the state basketball tournament. If you happened to use a credit card (or debit card) while you were on your visit, please check and double check your statements! If you have the ability to get on line to check the current activity on your account, it would be wise to do so. - Chris Thank you Josie Hernandez Pimlott for bringing this to our attention!

PLEASE! Be careful out there today. Roads are slick.

Many of you will will be doing a lot of driving and heading off for the holiday tomorrow, and then more driving back home after. Lately it seems like my Facebook news feed is full of horrible accidents just here in Kansas alone, and it seems like many of those accidents have sadly ended in at least one death. So, please just remember to drive with patience and be observant. I promise you, your friends and family would much rather you show up late, than not show up at all. Have a very safe and fun holiday everyone. Happy Thanksgiving! -Chris
