Operation Rudolph! Police Officers from Merriam, Overland Park, and Shawnee went shopping for presents with sixth grade students from the Shawnee Mission School District.

Helped out some kids with the Chapel Oaks 7th Adventist Church during a scavenger hunt by having their pictures taken in the back of a police car. One of the few times you can sit there without the ride to jail.

We're not sure if these two officers were naughty or nice, but they did get to meet with Santa and eat breakfast with him.

MPO Castaneda spoke at the Blue Eagles law enforcement class today at Broadmoor Technical Center. Blue Eagles is a program offered through the Shawnee Mission School District for students who have an interest in a career in law enforcement. Who knows, he might have been talking future Merriam officers!

Come out and support Special Olympics Kansas AND get a coupon for IKEA food! For a donation you will get to place a sticker on a patrol car. We want to cover the whole police car to show our support for the athletes of Special Olympics Kansas!! You can then use your coupon inside for some of the great IKEA food!!

Jeffery Bloomfield has been located and is reunited with his family

The Merriam Police is seeking help locating an endangered missing adult. Jeffrey Bloomfield, 5'06", 170 pounds, unknown clothing was released this morning from Shawnee Mission Medical Center. Jeffrey has not returned home and his family is concerned because Jeffrey has mental health issues. Please contact dispatch 913-782-0720 with any information.

A BIG congrats on the promotion of PO Paul Hutchinson to Master Police Officer. MPO Hutchinson joined Merriam PD 4.5 years ago. He's joined by his wife, Kelly, and son, Channing, who did a great job pinning his dad's new badge!
