The Beloit Police Department would like to give a huge thank you to k9s of valor for sending us the Opioid Overdose Kit for K9 Gero and a letter from the company stating their mission and how they were able to help K9 Gero through a sponsor. The department hopes we never have to use it, but we are so thankful to know that if K9 Gero accidentally comes into contact with dangerous drugs we will be able to reverse the effects and save his life. Update Mr. Wilson has been found safe. Thank you to everyone for assisting in helping locate him. *****SILVER ALERT***** 75 year old Robert L. Wilson went missing from Beloit, Kansas sometime between 9:30 PM on Monday, February 5th and 3:10 AM on Tuesday, February 6th. Robert suffers from Alzheimer's and may be very disoriented. Robert is 5 foot 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 240 pounds. He has blue eyes and grey hair. He will probably be wearing a dark blue jacket, plaid green flannel pajama pants, a dark green long-sleeve pajama shirt with a white t-shirt under it, glasses and tennis shoes. Robert left on foot from the east side of Beloit and may still be in the area so please check around your homes and businesses and help us find him. *******UPDATE 12/30/2017************************************************************* Three suspects have been charged for the Damage to Property to the vehicles. Thanks again for the communities support and patience during this investigation. ******************************************************************************************** The Beloit Police Deaprtment recieved numerous reports of damage to vehicles on December 28, 2017. Reports indicate victims hearing noises outside their residences around 2 am. Damages range from broken tail lights to a broken rear window. In total 15 vehicles were damaged between the hours of 2 am and 6 am on the 28th. We are asking the comunities' help in identifying the responisble subjects. Please keep an eye on your neighborhood and report anything suspicious. Be safe and be aware, together we can better safeguard the community. The Beloit Police Department is asking anyone with information about this incident to contact us at 785-738-2203. If your information leads to an arrest/conviction, you may recieve up to a $500.00 reward.

On December 04, 2017, approximately 18:00 hours, the Beloit Police Department executed a search warrant in the 600 block of E. Main, Beloit KS. Approximately 2 ounces of Methamphetamine and 6 ounces of Marijuana were seized. 42 year old Steven Reed was arrested and charged with Distribution of Methamphetamines, within 1000 feet of a school.

On November 12, 2017, a case update involving the deceased male on East Court Street was recieved. A preliminary autopsy report indicates a 20-year white male's cause of death was a single self inflicted gun-shot wound to the head. We are saddend by this loss of life, thoughts go out to his family and friends.

On November 11, 2017, at approximately 0119 hours, officers and deputies responded to the 400 Block of East Court for a report of an unresponsive subject with a head injury. Upon arrival a male subject was found deceased. The Kansas Bureau of Investigation, Mitchell County Sheriff's Office and Beloit Police Department are investigating the circumstances and awaiting autopsy results. At this time there is no reason to believe there is a public safety concern.

On 10-4-17 the Beloit Police Department conducted a traffic stop. K9 Gero was deployed and gave a positive alert to the vehicle. A search of the vehicle was conducted. 7 grams of methamphetamine were recovered also 3 grams of marijuana and a digital scale as well as other drug paraphernalia. One suspect was booked into the Mitchell County Jail.

In the early morning hours of today's date. The Beloit Police Department K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop in the 200 blk. Of South Poplar. K9 Gero was deployed and gave a positive alert to the vehicle and 61 grams of marijuana were recovered as well as drug paraphernalia. Charges are filed.

On 9-18-17 the Beloit Police Department K-9 unit conducted a traffic stop on the west side of Beloit. K9 Gero was deployed and gave a positive alert to the vehicle. The vehicle was searched 3 grams of methamphetamine were recovered and drug paraphernalia associated with distribution. Two suspects were taken into custody and booked into the Mitchell County Jail.

The 2nd male suspect Zachary Barnes has been placed into custody. Female suspect has not been apprehended yet. This the most recent update. Please read.

Under the supervision of the Chief of Police and Patrol Sergeant, the Police Officer protects the life and property of citizens within the City of Beloit by enforcing all federal, state, and local laws and ordinances.
