Had the pleasure of taking my favorite Jr Police Officer to school this morning for career day.

Help support this great project for our county!

ACO Smith enjoyed seeing the kids today!! What a fun project and the money will be used to help local dogs in need. Thank you ECDC!!

With the new school year upon us, we just wanted to take time to point out that school safety and pedestrian safety are two of our top priorities. The buses will be on the roads and students will be walking and riding bikes to schools, remember the school 20 MPH zones. The road construction in front of the middle school and high school will create some challenges. Please be patient and follow all of the construction signs and leave yourself plenty of time to drive through the construction zone. When you are dropping your student off in the morning, it can be helpful if the student has their backpack ready when they exit the vehicle. The longer it takes to drop off your student the more congested and backed it becomes at the corner of 6th and Adams. If you have any questions on what to do or suggestions to ensure the safety of the students, please contact the Hugoton Police Department at 620-544-4959. Let's all work together toward another safe and successful school year! Thank you Hugoton Police Department

It came to our attention that some kids were needing bicycle helmets. With the help of the Hugoton Rotary Club and Flatlanders we were able to purchase bicycle helmets. A few have been given out and we have a few more on hand. If you know of anyone that needs a helmet please contact the Police department at 620-544-4959.

We are very fortunate here in Hugoton. Shout out to the Hugoton City Crew, our Main Street and side streets look much better than Main Street in Syracuse this morning.
