We are excited to say that the 10th annual Shop with a Cop is complete and in the books. The gifts have been purchased, wrapped, and all have been delivered to the respective children. This program would not be possible without the help of this great community we live in. From the generous donations to the wonderful volunteers that help with shopping and wrapping. We are beyond grateful for the help and support from so many people. We were able to provide gifts for 39 kids this year, and had a blast doing it. From all the officers and employees at the Hugoton Police Department, we wish you all a Merry Christmas and a safe and Happy New Year!

This time of year we receive Christmas goodies from businesses as a "Thank you," we sure do appreciate it and the goodies generally do not last too long around the office. We have also had the honor of receiving some homemade treats delivered by local families that took the time to bake with their kids, and personally deliver them. THANK YOU for thinking of us during the Holidays! Merry Christmas and a Safe and Happy New Year!!

Happy Thanksgiving 🍁🦃🍽

The Police Department is gearing up for Christmas shopping...but not for us. We are getting ready for the 10th annual SHOP WITH A COP. We will use money donated from the community to purchase Christmas gifts for less fortunate kids. This program would not be possible without the help of the officers and staff of the police department, The Santa Committee, our local community, and Liberal Wal-Mart. There are many ways you can help. You can recommend a family with kids, you can donate your time by joining us in our day of shopping, or wrapping the gifts. You can also make a monetary donation to the Hugoton Police Department-Shop With a Cop. If you would like more information or to recommend a family there are a few ways to do so. You can send us a facebook message, an email (, call us at 620-544-4959, or stop by the Police Department.

The Hugoton Police Department is also helping to support the Western Kansas Child Advocacy Center. Contact the Police Department for more information.

Had the pleasure of taking my favorite Jr Police Officer to school this morning for career day.

Help support this great project for our county!
