Important message from the Taylorsville Police Department:

In the last few days we have received calls from residents about the IRS calling them. The people making these calls are saying they have a warrant for your arrest if you do not pay them a certain amount of money. THIS IS A SCAM AND THESE PEOPLE MAKING THE CALLS ARE NOT THE IRS!!!! Please do not give them any information of yours that they can use to receive any type of payment.

Residents in the Ashes Creek area of Spencer County are reporting the sitings of a bear. This picture was taken by a resident in the area.

I know some of you have received phone calls like this before from someone claiming to be the IRS.

****STREET SWEEPING**** No parking will be permitted along Main Street begining on Friday September 23rd at 8:00 PM thru Satuday September 24th at 8:00 AM. This is to allow time for Main Street to be swept and cleaned. Thanks for your help!!!

****TRAFFIC ALERT FOR 06/30/2016**** The USA Cycling time trials will be in Taylorsville Thusday, June 30th. The will create a change in traffic flow on highway 44 east/Little Mount Road. The east bound lanes will be CLOSED to allow safe travel for the cyclist from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. The west bound lanes will handle both east and west traffic flow. Additionally Overlook road will be CLOSED for thru taffic til 12:00 pm. Local traffic may still use Overlook road during this time frame. Please be patient and cautious as officers and other volunteers will be stationed along the course to help with traffic direction. Thanks as always for your cooperation!!!!

The Taylorsville Police Departmet will be teaming up with law enforcement agencies across the state and participating in the Click it or Ticket campaign. During 2015, there were 761 highway fatalities in Kentucky. Of those fatalities, 588 individuals were motor vehicle occupants - 358 (61%) were not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. The campaign runs from May 23 to June 5.
