Shortly after midnight, Dracut Police responded to a 911 call at a residence on Sesame Street. Upon arrival, police located a woman with life threatening injuries who was transported to a Boston hospital. Subsequently, police received a call of a serious motor vehicle crash at the intersection of Methuen Street and Parker Road. Based on the preliminary investigation, it is believed that the male driver may have been coming from the Sesame Street location. The Dracut Police Department would like to remind residents that as of Dec. 1, the town's overnight parking ban is in effect. DRACUT POLICE ARREST WOMAN IN OVERNIGHT STABBING DRACUT MA: On August 01, 2017 at approximately 3:31 am the Dracut Police Department responded to a 911 call at 98 Pemberton Street in Dracut for a report of a stabbing. Officer Cook arrived on the scene and observed a male and female walking away from the address. Officer Cook ordered the parties to stop to speak to them. Officer Cook observed what he believed to be blood on the female’s sleeve and as he spoke to the parties the female victim appeared and told the officer the female he was speaking with had stabbed her with a steak knife. Officer Cook immediately secured the female suspect, who was identified as Jeanette Bristol 31 years old of Lawrence MA, and placed her in his patrol car. As other officers arrived on the scene Officer Cook was able to administer medical aid until Trinity Ambulance was on scene. During the initial investigation it was reported that the victim and the male party had been out earlier in the evening and went to the 98 Pemberton Street address. Upon leaving the address they were confronted by Bristol, who is reported to be the ex-girlfriend of the male party. A verbal argument ensued and Bristol escalated the argument to a physical altercation. It is alleged Bristol stabbed the victim in the lower left abdominal area with what was described as a white handled steak knife. The victim was transported to Lahey Hospital in Burlington for treatment. The Suspect Jeanette Bristol was transported to the Dracut Police Station and charged with Assault and Battery with a Dangerous Weapon. Bristol was held at the Dracut Police Department pending her arraignment at Lowell District Court today. The Dracut Police Department is proud to announce the promotion of Detective Wilmer Buote to the rank of Sergeant. Detective Buote was hired in August of 2005, as a full-time officer and was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau as a Detective, in May of 2008. He has worked tirelessly with other law enforcement agencies scrutinizing pawn shop data, in an effort to recover stolen property and solve breaking and entering cases within the region. The Dracut Police Department is happy to announce Lieutenant Stephen Chaput, was promoted to the rank of Deputy Chief of Police, effective Monday, March 20, 2017. Steve was initially hired in 1987, and was assigned to the Criminal Investigation Bureau as a Detective and Sergeant Detective.
