Thank you to all who came out tonight for the National Night Out! We had a great time and appreciated the community involvement in the park over hot dogs, food, children's "bounce house," and outdoor games. Thanks also the fire department for bringing out the trucks for display, especially popular with the kids. Thank you also for those who came out to the women's self-defense class. We had almost 50 ladies attend! Please let us know if this is something that you would like to repeat in the future. Ofc. Shaw also has a kids self-defense program that could be provided if there is community interest. Please respond here and/or contact SLPD if you would like to organize further events of this type.
