On Saturday, September 20, 2017 at 8pm police were called to Shannon Ct & Acton Street (15 ½ Mile/Kelly Rd area) for multiple Home invasions just occurred. Investigation showed that a subject entered at least three homes (while the residents were inside) taking cash, electronics and purses. Several residents of the area had outside surveillance video which they showed the responding officers. After reviewing the neighbors video, the officer gave out a BOL (Be on the lookout) giving a description of the suspect. Two Clinton Township Police officers observed the suspect at 16 Mile & Groesbeck and the suspect was arrested. A handgun along with property taken in the home invasions was recovered from the suspect. The suspect is a 20 year old Detroit man and is lodged at the Clinton Township Police station. Warrant request will be submitted to the Macomb County Prosecutor on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 and the suspect will be arraigned on Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at 1pm at 41 B District Court.

The Clinton Township Police Department has beaten the Fire Dept. in Family Feud last night at the Mirage Optimist Club event. The score was 485 to 194 !

The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating a serious injury crash involving a maroon 2004 Dodge Caravan and a silver 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The crash occurred around 0820 hours on Friday September 29th, 2017. Preliminary investigation indicates the Dodge Caravan was behind a Dodge Durango as both were traveling west bound on Clinton River Road near 17 mile rd. The Trailblazer was east bound Clinton River Road and for an unknown reason began to drive left of the center line. The Durango observed the Trailblazer and drove off the roadway to avoid a head on collision, but the Caravan wasn’t able to avoid the collision. The vehicles struck just about head on prior to coming to an uncontrolled rest. Both drivers were injured in the crash. The driver of the Trailblazer, a 18 y/o W/M from Sterling Heights, remained on scene until emergency services arrived. The driver of the Caravan, a 46 y/o from Sterling Heights, suffered severe injuries and was in and out of consciousness. Both names are being withheld pending further investigation. The 46 y/o suffered a broken arm, shattered leg, and a collapsed lung. He is being sedated at a nearby hospital. The 18 y/o had already been released from the hospital. Drugs and/or Alcohol may have been involved in the crash, which we are currently investigating. Clinton River Road is a curvy asphalt roadway with the posted speed limit of 40 mph. Southbound Groesbeck Highway south of Cass is a mess due to a serious accident. Avoid the area entirely.

The Clinton Township Police Department is investigating a fatal car vs. bicycle hit & run crash that occurred on Metro Parkway & Gratiot last night. The car was traveling eastbound on Metro Parkway and the bicycle was northbound. It appears that the bicycle was in the crosswalk. The victim who was riding a red bicycle was identified as a woman in her 40s and was a resident of Clinton Township. Her name will be released pending proper notification of her family. This morning, a woman came to CTPD and claimed responsibility for the crash. The vehicle involved has been impounded and will be processed for evidence. The driver was questioned and released pending further investigation of the crash. The results of the investigation will be forwarded to the Macomb Co. Prosecutors Office for review.
