PRESS RELEASE On Friday, February 23rd, 2018, at approximately 8:05 a.m. the Hart Police Department was notified by the Hart Public School system of a possible threat to the Hart High School. Due to this threat, the school was placed into soft lockdown. With the information provided to the department an investigation was conducted into this issue. It was later determined this information was not factual and a “rumor” began throughout the school of this alleged threat. The department takes this information very seriously and will continue an investigation into this complaint. The incident reported to the Hart Police Department was similar in nature to the incident that Shelby Police Department received yesterday, Thursday February 22nd, 2018, which stemmed from a threat originating from the State of Ohio. The Hart Police Department would like to recognize the Hart Public School system on how proper they handled this threat. The Hart Public School system did exactly what they were trained to do in such a situation. It is comforting to know that our Hart Public School system is serious about the safety and well-being of our students and faculty.
