Shelby Police Department News

Our Teammate Jaclyn asked me to post this pic and see if anyone is missing these items. Looks like they might be pretty important to someone. If you can help get these home, please PM me so I️ can put you in contact. Found in area of 23/Shelby.

Thanks to our little friends at Peace Lutheran Pre-school for sending brownies and rice crispy treats with a beautiful turkey card wishing us a Happy Thanksgiving! Sgt. Neubacher and Officer Haughee enjoyed the visit!

Our teammate Derica sent us the sweetest little invitation last week. Apparently, her daughter Isabel was having a police themed party for her 5th birthday, and wanted to invite the police department. All 70 of us! Officer Bunch and Officer Sorbo stopped by to say hello and snap this picture during her party. (We also hear that two of our nightshift officers stopped by to meet Isabel and give her a small gift, but they didn’t want to ruin their tough-guy night-shift rep by taking a picture.) Thanks for inviting us, Isabel!!

Congratulations to our pal Jeff for helping Harper Woods P.D. nab a package thief. Great work!

The Halloween festivities around the Township are some of our favorite events. Thanks for including us in your celebrations!

Team Shelby came through again and overflowed the donation box to assist our low-income seniors in feeding their furry companions. Thanks to Macomb County Animal Control, Macomb Food Program, and Pet Supplies Plus for sponsoring this food drive. (If you weren’t able to donate this time, Macomb County Animal Control has an Amazon wish list.). Nice job, Team!! -with Macomb County Animal Control

We are honored to be a Toys For Tots dropbox location once again this year. We have two donation boxes in the front lobby of the police department. You can drop off new unwrapped toys from now until December 13th.

The pet-food drop-off box is in place once again this year!

Chief Shelide asked us to share this with Team Shelby. Do you think a part-time police academy would help us in our recruiting efforts? Check out this survey and weigh in with your opinion! Thanks

Our 12th annual shred day is in full swing. Members of the Eisenhower H.S. Key Club are helping unload boxes into Absolute Shred trucks until 1pm. Oh, and Sgt. Titchenell is getting rained on. (They say a good cop never gets cold, wet or hungry. It can’t be true because I KNOW Sarge is a great cop....but he is DEFINITELY wet...and he looks a little #hangry) Thanks to Shelby Community Foundation, Absolute Shreds of Auburn Hills, and the Ike Key Club for helping us make this event a success each year!

It's Friday!! Let's shake off this crazy week with a little fun. We pulled all of our remaining veggies out of our little garden last weekend, and this carrot still has me laughing! Caption or meme this picture and vote for the best. The caption or meme with the most votes on Monday morning will get a limited edition Shelby PD item! (Gotta' go raid the closet and see what cool stuff we have.) Go! -L

Shred day is coming up! Please share with your friends and neighbors. Protect your information by having it professionally shredded!

It's time for the Eisenhower Homecoming Parade, Team. So, we would like to remind you that 25 Mile will be closed from Shelby Road to Eisenhower's parking lot on Friday, Oct 6th between 4:00pm-4:45pm. For the safety of all the kids involved, there is no traffic allowed through. Please make your plans to stop and cheer the Eagles on, or find an alternate route. Thanks!

Who says we put all the crusty old guys on night shift? This is Officer Armstrong, and his new friends Bennett and Rudy. Officer Armstrong is a career-long night shifter and, as you can tell from the smiles, at least the boys don't think he's crusty. ;)

Thanks to teammate Scott for sending these pics from the other day on Sherwood Lane. The Kadets Family won a home visit from the Eisenhower High School Marching Band in advance of the Band-O-Rama competition. It's not every day you get your very own parade, huh? Thanks for the pics, Scott!

I feel like we show you a lot of the undersides of vehicles....but if they serve to remind you that nothing in your life is worth live-streaming on the Internet while driving, then so be it. This is from last week at 22/Schoenherr. We held on to it to make sure the driver was going to recover, which thankfully is the case. Jim Morrison sang about it all the way back in 1970, folks, and it's never been more true..... keep your eyes on the road and your hands upon the wheel.
