The funeral service for Congresswoman Louise Slaughter will affect Downtown traffic and cause delays in the area near the Eastman Theatre on Friday. Portions of three roads will be closed for part of the day. They are: • Gibbs Street from East Avenue to Grove Street will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. • Swan Street from East Main Street to East Avenue will be closed from 3 a.m. to 3 p.m. • East Main Street from University Avenue to Chestnut Street will be closed from 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Deputy Chief Singletary and Lieutenant Lindauer attended the 19th Annual Rochester/Monroe County Domestic Violence Consortium Legislative Breakfast this morning.

Over the next couple of days these officers from the Genesee Section will be teaming up with young adults from Teen Empowerment to strengthen and build relationships with one another in Southwest Rochester. The officers will be taking part in various activities with the young adults. #communitypolicing

Today, Chief Ciminelli and the RPD Command Staff congratulated Recruit Class #65 for earning their badges today. The next step will be 16 weeks of field training. We wish all of them continued success and praise them for their hard work thus far.

We would like to sincerely thank everyone who came out to search for Trevyon the last several days. Rochester is a very kind and compassionate community, and Trevyon's family is very grateful for the outpouring of support. RPD will continue its investigative efforts overnight and into the morning. Adult members of the public who want to help can come to Al Sigl's Elmwood campus tomorrow at noon. Please check your garages, sheds, porches or other enclosed areas. If you happen to see Trevyon, who is wearing a black coat with a fur hood and red sneakers, please call 911.
