Belgrade Police Department News

As most of you have noticed, the Police Department applied for the SHIP grant for solar powered speed signs and we got it. The grant is designed to help get kids to school safely. The Belgrade Public Works was able to assist us with installing the signs. There are 2 of them on Washburn Ave. When you travel over 30mph you see in the picture a strobe comes on to notify you to slow down. Brooten will be getting the 3rd sign on Hwy 55 traveling east passed the school. Once that sign arrives we will be working with Brooten Public Works to install it. We will continue to apply for these grants to help assure the safety of BBE Students.

It is that time of year that we will be checking both Belgrade and Brooten for nuisance violations. Both towns have similar ordinances involving the up keep of your yard. Here is the example notices that we will be dropping off if you are in violation. Both City Councils have asked us to enforce these, so we would like to give a heads up and a chance to fix these issues that violate the ordinance before a penalty is enforced. Thank you.

In 1962, President Kennedy proclaimed May 15th as National Peace Officers Memorial Day, and the calendar week in which May 15th falls as National Police Week. This week pays special recognition to law enforcement officers who have lost their lives in the line of duty for the safety and protection of others.

Happy Mothers Day! From All of us a Belgrade PD!

A cow decided to make a run for it after it was dropped off at Belgrade Meats. After a few laps around down town, Officer Engfer negotiated with her to go back and this group wrangled her up.
