Law Enforcement Officers of every rank and file have chosen a profession that puts their life on the line every day for their communities. They’ve answered a call to public service that is demanding and often unappreciated. Today, on National Law Enforcement Day, we have an opportunity to thank them for their service and offer a token of respect. We would like to L.E.A.D. the way by saying thank you to our officers and to let them know how proud we are of them. Thank you to our local and regional partners, and every officer that put the uniform on each day to protect their communities.

On Saturday, December 9th, the Running Well Store will be holding the 5th annual Christmas Lights 5k in North Kansas City. The course is the same as the previsous four years and will include road closures North of Armour Rd. between Howell and Swift. Closures will include portions of Armour Rd. and Swift St. There will be NO traffic allowed on the route during the closure. Road closures will begin at 5:00pm and the route will completley re-open at 6:30. Please refer to the attached map and make any travel plans accordingly. Thank you for your patience and understanding as our number one goal is the safety of the participants and volunteers.

An early reminder that this Saturday, December 9th, close to 1,500 runners/walkers will be descending onto the streets of North Kansas City for the Christmas Lights 5k. If you haven't got those Christmas Lights up yet now is the time. This is a great opportunity to showcase our wonderful neighborhoods.

**SCAM ALERT** We were recently contacted by a resident of Kansas City who told us they received a call with the phone number masked as our main number. The caller represented themselves as a North Kansas City Police officer and indicated that the person's wallet had been recovered. The resident immediately recognized the circumstances as suspicious and terminated the call so we cannot verify what the callers intentions were. If you are ever contacted in a manner like this know that if we have recovered property belonging to you we will arrange for the pick up at our station. Be cautious about giving any personal or banking information over the phone in these circumstances, and please report any suspicious activity to your local police department.
