The National Weather Service has issued a Tornado Watch for Linn County, effective until 9:00 pm this evening.
Route M between Iva Road and Halley Road, will be closed today from 7:00AM to 3:00PM for culvert replacement.

*** Traffic Update *** MoDOT Traveler's Information Map is showing US 36 in Linn County as Partly Covered. It also shows Highway 5 North into Linneus and Highway 5 South into Marceline as Partly Covered. Most local roads are slick and some fog recently moved into the area. Please, allow extra time for your morning commute. Stay safe.

*** Update: MO 11 is reopened *** *** Traffic Delay *** MO 11 at the South end of Brookfield is currently blocked. Please, avoid the area and use alternate routes for your morning commute. We will update when the road is reopened.
*** News Release *** On 3/21/18 at approximately 11:00 AM, officers with the Brookfield Police Department responded to the business at 309 Forrest Dr. in Brookfield Missouri for the report of a shooting. Upon the officers' arrival, it was determined the male victim was outside of his vehicle looking at other vehicles in the parking lot on the Southwest side of the business. The victim was struck by a single shot in the back. A single gunshot was heard by witnesses and the victim. The victim was driven to Pershing Memorial Hospital by private vehicle. The Brookfield Police Department was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol’s Division of Drug and Crime Control. The Brookfield Police Department is still investigating the incident and further details will be released as the investigation progresses.
