The Natchez Police Department is asking for those individuals living in the Mark Apartments, Tara Apartments, and Village Green Apartments to check your vehicles to make sure nothing has been stolen. On June 14 between midnight and 0400 in the morning some individuals were stopped and questioned. They have admitted going into cars. We recovered some items. We need the victims to come forward even if nothing seems to be missing. If you keep your weapon in your vehicle, double check to make sure you still have it. On April 27, 2018 around 0208 hours officers responded to an alarm call at Natchez Pawn (283 John R Junkin). Upon officers arrival at the scene it was discovered that the front entry door had been damaged and entry was gained into the store. Several weapons were stolen from the pawn shop. A few weapons were recovered at the scene that appeared to have been dropped by the suspects involved. Police are working the burglary and are requesting the assistance of the public for any information involving the incident. The police department wants to remind the public that they can call crime stoppers and do not have to leave their name. If the information leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved in the burglary of Natchez Pawn; a cash reward may be offered. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 601-442-5000.

On April 27, 2018 around 0120 hours officers responded to a call in the area of Brenham and Minor Street in reference to a subject that was shot several times. Upon Officers arrival they established a security perimeter around the crime scene. The victim (identified as Cedric Anderson, 54) was laying on his back in the roadway and appeared to be unresponsive. Police believe the shooting may have resulted from an earlier argument that the victim was involved in that night. The victim was shot several times and was transported by ambulance to Merit Health where he was later pronounced dead. The police do have a person of interest involved in the shooting. Police are working the case and are requesting the assistance of the public for any information involving the incident. The police department wants to remind the public that they can call crime stoppers and do not have to leave their name. If the information leads to the arrest and conviction of the suspect(s) involved in the murder of Cedric Anderson; a cash reward may be offered. Crime Stoppers can be reached at 601-442-5000.
