Ocean Springs Police Department PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT RE: Theft - Purses and Other Personal Property ATTN: All Businesses, especially Small Businesses Thieves look for easy opportunities to take what doesn’t belong to them… not only merchandise, but also your personal property. Never leave your personal items in plain view where they can be seen or easily reached by anyone other than yourself. If you have an office, LOCK IT when not in use. Allow only your most trusted employee access to sensitive areas of your establishment. Security Cameras are GREAT! Make sure that you have them arranged where the facial features of your patrons can be identified, not the top of their heads. Be aware of your surroundings. If you see a group of two or more individuals enter your business, be aware of their movements while they are in your shops. If it becomes obvious that one is trying to distract you, politely excuse yourself, go to your phone, and contact the police department for an officer stand-by at 228-875-2211. Finally, if you are concerned or apprehensive about anyone in your business, call the Ocean Springs Police Department at 228-875-2211.
