For over two years, the Shelby Police Department has been partnering with local churches and other facilities, to help them prepare for the worst. In light of recent events, we want to remind our faith based community, as well as any other group or facility, to have a plan, remain vigilant, and let us be a part of your preparation. We offer Church Safety and Security awareness training, active shooter training, and other emergency preparedness training customized to your group's needs. Please call Officer Matt Melvin or Lt. It's time once again to start signing up for Shelby Police Department's Citizen's Police Academy. This is a great opportunity for those interested in law enforcement,or simply wanting to learn more about the inner workings of your police department. You will get a chance to learn, ask questions, and participate in hands on demonstrations. You will also get an opportunity to ride along with an officer during patrol. We had a blast tonight at the Marion School Fall Festival. Superheroes, ghosts, and goblins all stopped by to visit our table. We even saw some of our past Cop Campers.

Thank you to everyone who attended the PSN meeting Monday night. The bad weather forced us to switch speakers at the last minute, but we want to offer a raincheck to hear Christy Huggins at our next meeting. Christy will offer an entertaining and informative presentation about the process and challenges of being a 911 Technician. Due to the holiday, we will hold the meeting on November 13th at 6:00 pm instead of November 27th. Thank you!
