Happy Birthday Officer Lattimore. Thank you for your service to our department. We hope you have a great day.

The city of Shelby is currently experiencing a power outage but Duke Power is working to fix the problem. Hats off to our dispatch center for handing such a large volume of calls.

We really enjoyed our visit with these two young guys who stopped by to learn about the police department. Thank you for coming to see us today!!!

Update--Marion Street has reopened. Please continue to use caution if you are commuting during the storms.

Please avoid West Marion Street near Thompson Street as the storm waters recede. We have removed a stalled vehicle from this section of the street. The vehicle became trapped in the flood water for a short time. Please use extreme caution as several roadways are flooded and dangerous. Please do not attempt to cross flooded roadways as you can easily become stranded. These waters are many times deeper and more swift than they appear. Please report downed trees, lines and flooded road ways. Be safe!!

Come and help us celebrate our annual National Night Out on August 7th from 6:30pm - 8:30pm at the City Pavilion located at 126 West Marion St. This is a free and safe event for the whole family. Any questions please contact Sgt. Shannon Porter at 704-484-7161.

Officer Brandon Spangler and Officer Mike Chapman are taking time out to educate Project Safe Neighborhoods about their project to help improve areas where vacant homes are not being secured and maintained. These officers are working closely with our code enforcement office to improve quality of life in these areas.
