Ralston Police Department News

RPD is participating in an enforcement effort against drugged driving this weekend. Alcohol isn't the only cause of DUI arrests and impaired driving accidents. THC and other drugs slow reaction times and impair your ability to drive safely.

The Autism Walk scheduled for 11:00 this morning has been shortened due to the weather. Q St between Independence Dr and Veterans Way, Veterans Way between Lakeview and Q St, and Independence Dr between Q St and P St will be closed at that time.

Happy National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week to our amazing dispatchers and call takers at Douglas County 911! Thank you for ALL you do for First Responders and the citizens of our county. You are unsung heroes that are never seen, but are the first ones people in need talk to.

Crews are working on a water main break on Harrison St between 84th and 87th. There are lane restrictions between 84th and 90th on Harrison St. This closure is expected to last several days. Consider alternate routes.

Have a happy and safe St Patrick’s Day! Be sure to designate a driver or find a ride so you don’t end the night in handcuffs! #stpatricksday #designateddriver

‪Work has resumed on the 84 St bridge between Park Dr and Madison. North and southbound lane restrictions. Please slow down and bring your patience. ‬#rpd

A huge thanks to RVFD for the appreciation award. We have a great working relationship with our brothers and sisters in the fire service. These men and women are all volunteers, which tells you something about their character. Thanks again Ralston Fire!

Thanks to the Lesley family for the goodies! We really appreciate your support!

The Ralston Police Department has taken several reports in the past few months in reference to counterfeit bills. These bills are being used at local businesses and in private transactions such as Craigslist, Letgo, Facebook Marketplace, etc. Some of the bills being used are "Motion Picture" bills which clearly state "For Motion Picture Use Only" in the upper right hand part of the bill. Others are counterfeit and lack the security features such as color changing ink, security thread, watermark, and each bill containing its own unique serial number. Please be on the lookout when accepting bills during these types of transactions! More information on security features can be found on the U.S. Currency website, www.uscurrency.gov.

We've all been warned about the coming weather. Please be careful if you have to venture out. Take your time and arrive safe.

Happy New Year!

Once again, Thank You to Liberty Church for the delicious spread of food you provided for our officers working today! You spoiled us and we are very grateful!
