This Friday, April 28, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. is the annual "Dog Clinic". You must have your dog's rabies vaccination certificate with you. If you do not have the certificate, we won't be able to license your dog. Dr. Baxa will, once again, be available at the clinic to vaccinate your dog for a fee.

Yet another way for the dregs of society to scam money and victimize you. Just Hang Up! If you don't recognize the number or the voice, Just Hang Up! These people do not care about you or how hard you worked for your money, or that you are on a limited income. Just Hang Up! Are you sensing a theme? Protect yourself. Just Hang Up!

Good idea for Officer Bornemeier

Love this!!!

2 police officers were wounded in the capture of the bombing suspect in NY and NJ. In the Boston Marathon bombing, a MIT Campus Police Officer was killed by one of the terrorists. In the St. Paul, MN knife attack at the mall, an off-duty cop was able to stop the attacker and prevent further bloodshed. Our system of government is designed in such a way that it will not be the military that responds and fights terror attacks on our soil. It is the cops. I think that our cops should receive the training, and equipment, to be able to respond swiftly, effectively and safely to these attacks. It is definitely something about which we should think.

Good information from our friends in Crete. It seems that there is never a shortage of these types of scams.

Over the past couple of weeks, we have had a couple of found bicycles turned in to us. If you are missing your bicycle, give us a call.

Thankfully, we have an active Fire Department here in Wymore. But, c'mon, this was too cute not to share!

Well, folks. Its that time of year again. Tax time! And since it is tax time, there are plenty of scams floating around. The most prevalent that we've heard about so far this year, is the phone call from"Officer" so & so with the IRS. And, if you don't give them money, you will either be arrested, or sued. The IRS won't call you. The IRS doesn't employ "Officers". The IRS is a branch of the Department of the Treasury, and their law enforcement folks are called "Special Agents". Only the very worst of the worst of the people the IRS goes after are arrested. And then, only after there is a federal indictment. Mostly, if the IRS is coming after you, they will seize your assets and bank accounts and file garnishments. When/If you get these calls,PLEASE do not give them ANY information. Just hang up.
