This morning the Blair Police Department was contacted by Blair Community Schools regarding an anonymous tip they had received regarding an alleged threat to students at this year’s Prom. The report was thoroughly investigated by police and school staff and found to be without merit. The Blair Police Department will have a strong presence at prom and other events through the rest of the school year. We take reports such as this seriously. We investigate them and take enforcement action as necessary. Please see the following message that was released earlier by BHS Administrative Staff: Parents of 9-12, Blair High School received an anonymous tip on the new Safeschools Alert system that has been implemented stating a student was going to do harm at Prom on Saturday. BHS contacted Blair Police and working together investigated the allegations. The police found no credible threat and the school concurs with the assessment. As always, the safety of our students and staff is our number one concern. Police have always been hired to attend prom and that will be the case again this year. We are looking forward to a fun night for our students this Saturday where all kids are safe and make good decisions. T. Anderson, Principal of BHS

Today was National Vietnam Veterans Day. Many of us who have been around a while were trained by officers who served in that war. Thank you for what you did for our nation. We owe you a lot.
