Galloway Township Police Department News

Remembering Our Past Law Enforcement Officers In 1962, President John F. Kennedy signed a proclamation which designated May 15 as Peace Officers Memorial Day and the week in which that date falls as National Police Week to honor the service and sacrifice of our American law enforcement officers. The Thin Blue Line flag symbolizes those brave men and women who have protected and served this great nation. During National Police Week from May 13-19 the Galloway Township Police Department will remember those who have worn a badge but are no longer with us. Officers from the Honor Guard will place a Thin Blue Line flag on the graves of past law enforcement officers from Galloway Township or any other agency who are interred in any of our local cemeteries. In addition the Honor Guard will place these flags on the graves of any past Galloway Township officers who are interred in nearby cemeteries outside of our community. Family members are asked to call DLT Joseph Picardi at (609) 652-3705 x327 or jpicardi@gtpd.org if you would like to have your loved one's grave marked this year.
