Belleville Police invite you to a "Coffee With A Cop"/ Community Meeting on Wednesday February 21, 2018 at 7:00PM at 125 Franklin Ave (Senior Citizen Building). We will be discussing crime trends, and burglary prevention tips.

After another senseless school shooting today in Florida parents should talk to their kids. Many kids are getting their info from social media or news outlets. Parents should take time to ask open ended questions to encourage their kids to share their feelings and emotions. This can be done informally and take as little as 15 minutes.

Belleville Police presented Mrs. Piambo with a new American flag. Mrs. Piambo is a Belleville resident who often goes out of her way to bake cookies and treats for the Officers. In return many of the officers visit her during their shift. It came to our attention that she needed a new flag. Captain Dockendorf and his squad delivered the American Flag to Mrs. Piambo today.

Belleville Police Officers are again participating in the Police Unity Tour with Chapter 1. The Police Unity Tour motto is " We Ride For Those Who Died" and we raise awareness about America's fallen officers. I hope you will support Team Belleville Police by making a donation to our page. The ride to Washington DC is 300 plus miles in four days.

The theft occurred in the area of Bridge Street in Belleville. At this time he is only a person of interest and we would like to interview him.

Lt. Frank Pignataro stopped by the Belleville Public Library today for story time with the kids. Every Wednesday at 1000 it's storybook friends for kids 2-6 in children's room.

BPD is reminding residents to not warm up your car and leave the vehicle running unattended. We have investigated three stolen motor vehicles in the last month all left running with the keys inside.

Martin Luther King Jr flag raising ceremony outside town hall. The flag was raised to celebrate his birthday on Monday January 15th.

In honor of law enforcement appreciation day Belleville Police Department received cookies from survivor Phyllis Morgan. Michael Morgan was killed in the line of duty on 11/7/2011. It’s truly an honor to be recognized by an amazing family on this day.

Belleville Police Department will be participating in New Jerseys' Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over campaign from December 8- January 1, 2018. BPD has added extra patrols to be on the lookout for impaired drivers. Impaired driving is one of the most often committed crimes, randomly killing someone in America every 30 minutes and nearly 50 people a day. That means you, your family or friends are just as likely to be innocent victims.
