On Monday, November 27th at 10:12 AM, the Verona Police Department responded to the Pilgrim Shopping Plaza on a report of a suspicious incident. The caller believed that they saw a female get pushed by a male into a car, after it seemed they were having some sort of verbal dispute. The caller provided a license plate and description of the vehicle. The area was checked and surrounding towns were notified of the information provided. The vehicle was not found. The Verona Police contacted the vehicle owner’s hometown Police Department and a welfare check was performed. According to the female involved; at the time the caller saw her, she was having a dispute with her boyfriend and was going to find another ride home. She said her boyfriend had her get back in the car and she voluntarily drove away with him. She requested no further Police involvement. We thank the original caller for her keen awareness, obtaining the license plate, and forwarding the information to the VPD. Please be advised that there was never a reported ‘luring’ or any other threat to the general public.
