The Little Silver Police Department will be participating in the DEA’s National Prescription Drug Take-Back Program on Saturday, April 28th. Bring your unwanted or expired medication to Little Silver Borough Hall between 10am - 2pm on 4/28. This program is aimed at being a safe and responsible way for disposing prescription medications you no longer need.

Emergency road closure, Seven Bridges Road between Silverside Avenue and Winding Way South is closed. Northbound traffic is detoured to Silverside Avenue and southbound traffic is detoured to Silverside Avenue via Winding Way South. The roadway is expected to be closed for the remainder of the day. Please follow the detour and avoid the area if possible.

Reminder to all residents: There shall be no parking on borough streets during snow emergencies.

Important message from the Borough of Little Silver Tax Collector’s Office. The Tax Office will be open until 4 p.m. on Friday, December 29th to accept tax payments. Online payments will be accepted through the 31st of December (Fees Apply). Payments may also be made to the drop box in the foyer of the Police Department until midnight on the 31st. Today, members of Department attended the swearing in of Trooper Benjamin Graham to the New Jersey State Police where he was issued his own special Troop Car. Ben is the textbook definition of a "trooper" as he continues his fight against neuroblastoma. The Little Silver Police Department would like to take this opportunity to remind residents that pursuant to Borough Ordinance 10-3.9 no person, at any time, shall park, stop, stand or abandon any motor vehicle or obstacle on any street in the borough during snow removal activities. Additionally, New Jersey Motor Vehicle Code 39:4-77.1 states: Each driver of a motor vehicle operated on a street or highway in this State shall have an affirmative duty to make all reasonable efforts to remove accumulated ice or snow from exposed surfaces of the motor vehicle prior to operation, which surfaces shall include, but not be limited to, the hood, trunk, windshield, windows, and roof of the motor vehicle, the cab of a truck, the top of a trailer or semitrailer being drawn by a motor vehicle, and the top of an intermodal freight container being carried by an intermodal chassis. A person who violates the provisions of this subsection may be stopped on a street or highway by a law enforcement officer who believes the accumulated ice or snow may pose a threat to persons or property and shall be subject to a fine of not less than $25 or more than $75 for each offense regardless of whether any snow or ice is dislodged from the motor vehicle.

The Little Silver Police Department is currently investigating residential burglaries which have occurred during daytime hours. Residents are asked and encouraged to report any activity which they believe to be suspicious to the Police IMMEDIATELY, to lock their doors and windows, and utilize alarm systems if your home is equipped with one.

Beginning tomorrow on 11/28, Oceanport Avenue will be closed between Silverside Avenue in Little Silver and Main Street in Oceanport. There will be no access to Oceanport from Oceanport Avenue, the detour will be Silverside Avenue to Seven Bridges Road. The road will be closed through Friday 12/1. The closure is due to the New Jersey American Water Company replacing a 36" water main into Fort Monmouth. There will be access to the businesses on Oceanport Avenue in Little Silver.
