LBPD proudly supports the Emergency Management Assistance Compact (EMAC) agreement with FEMA and wishes safe travels to 4 of our officers as they embark on a mission to assist in Puerto Rico.
Sgt. Juan H. Vasquez #282, Sgt. Heather Valdes #290, Cpl. Edwin Gomez #276 and Cpl. Julio Delacruz #278 have been approved for a two week assignment in Puerto Rico in response to the hurricane devastation.
Acting Police Chief Jason Roebuck recently addressed these officers and the many others who volunteered as follows: "I would like to thank all of you that volunteered to be deployed to Puerto Rico. The response was overwhelming. It was incredible to see how many of you volunteered to leave your families and travel to an area that has been completely destroyed, to help others."
Our officers will join the incredible team of many other first responders and organizations who are making this mission possible, including the New Jersey Office of Emergency Management, the New Jersey State Police, Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office and, of course, FEMA Federal Emergency Management Agency
