::Future Road Work Advisory:: Elizabethtown Gas will be replacing aging gas mains, gas meters will be moved from inside of the homes to the outside, and service lines will be replaced.The streets that will be directly affected are Anchor Place, North Avenue, and Winslow Place. Elizabethtown Gas has not provided an exact date at this time but are expected to start middle of April. Anchor Place will be shutdown during the construction so please plan alternate routes. Any questions on the construction can be forwarded to Elizabethtown Gas.

The Garwood Police Department in conjunction with Garwood Municipal Alliance will be holding it's first ever Youth Academy. The Academy is open to Garwood students in 5th, 6th, 7th, and 8th grades. Academy will also be open to students outside the Borough of Garwood, if they meet the grade requirement and are a relative of a Garwood student also attending the Academy. The week will be filled with activities, team building projects, physical training, as well as demonstrations from law enforcement units from around the County and State. The cost for each recruit will be $30.00. Applications for the Youth Academy can be picked up at Garwood Police Headquarters. You can also print the application at home by visiting www.garwwodpd.org or www.garwood.org. Deadline for applications will be May 25, 2018. Late applications will not be accepted.
