Heavy rains and winds are expected over the next few hours which can lead to flooding and power outages. Use caution if you must travel tonight as visibility is also poor.

Today 10/28/17 Scotch Plains has several events that will affect traffic in the township. You are encouraged to use alternate routes of travel so avoid delays on your travel plans This Morning Union Catholic is sponsoring a 5K race on the south side of town. Martine Ave will be closed between 8:30am and 12:00pm. This afternoon the Recreation Department will be sponsoring a Trunk-or-Treat on Park Ave. Park Ave will be closed between 2pm and 6pm for this event which the kids will be allowed to partake in starting at 3:30. There is also a football game at the SPF High School starting at 2pm. Come out on this beautiful Saturday and enjoy the activities with your friends and Neighbors

Please join us for a seminar being held at Union Catholic High School, Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2017, 7:00PM, in the cafeteria. The topic is, 'Parents Who Host Lose the Most' discussing the consequences of parents hosting social gatherings and providing alcohol to minors.

The Scotch Plains and Fanwood Police Departments along with the Municipal Alliance Committee are holding an event on Wednesday, October 11, 2017, 6:30PM at Forest Road Park. The event is called 'Hidden in Plain Sight' which is presented by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA). It is just for parents and will teach them what to look for in their child's room that may indicate possible substance abuse. We hope that you will join us.

Weather permitting the Scotch Plains DPW will be milling and paving Westfield Ave between Westfield Rd and Evans Av starting on Monday Aug.21 and work will continue for the rest of the week. Local residents are asked to have their vehicles off the street by 7am during this period. Please park on the nearest side street or at Memorial Field.

The Scotch Plains Police Department have an 'Extended Time Parking Permit' for businesses who may have patrons that will be visiting their establishment for longer than the allowed parking time limits.
