Weekly Arrests:

On 5-23-18 the DeWitt Police Department made the arrest of Michael A. Boldt, 23 of North Syracuse, on numerous felony drug charges after a two month investigation conducted by the department’s Criminal Investigation Division. On 03-10-18, Members of the DeWitt Police Department were dispatched to 1025 Kinne St, for a drug complaint. During this complaint the Department recovered over 5 ounces of Prescription Narcotic Drugs and over 50 ounces of Marijuana. Both Daniel Georgevich, 34 of East Syracuse, NY and Eugene Georgevich, 61 of East Syracuse, NY, were subsequently charged with: - Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd (A-II Felony). - Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 3rd (B Felony). - Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 4th (C Felony). - Criminal Possession of a Controlled Substance 5th (D Felony). - Criminal Possession of Marihuana 2nd (D Felony). During a search of 1025 Kinne St a large safe was located and a large amount of illegal drugs were found to be contained inside, along with other evidence linking Michael Boldt to the safe and its contents. Contained within the safe was over 8.9 ounces of cocaine, 4.7 Ounces of crack cocaine, 2lbs of Marihuana, 13.5 Ounces of Prescription Narcotics of various types and over 90 Suboxone film strips. Upon the completion of the Investigation the DeWitt Police Department executed three search warrants on 5-23-18 at address Investigators were able to link to Boldt. A Hotel Room in the City of Syracuse where Boldt was located and found in possession of 15 Hydrocodone Pills upon his arrest. A warrant was then executed at 607 Robinson St Apt 21B, where over 2lbs of marijuana was located along with 2 ounces of Cocaine and several hundred prescription narcotic pills that weighed nearly 2 ounces. Most of these items were located within a safe that was opened with a key possessed by Boldt when taken into custody in his Hotel room. A third warrant was then executed at 89 Coolidge RD in North Syracuse, where over 5 ounces of cocaine was located with over a hundred more prescription narcotic pills, weighing over1.35 ounces, and a 1.25lbs of marijuana. Boldt was charged with numerous counts of Criminal Possession of a controlled substance in the 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 5th degrees as well as multiple counts of Criminal Possession of Marijuana in the 2nd degree and Conspiracy 2nd degree. Boldt was arraigned in the Town of DeWitt Court and held on $50,000 cash or $100,000 Bond.

On May 17, 2018 at about 12:09 a.m., Dewitt Officers conducted a Traffic Stop that resulted in an arrest. It was alleged that Luis Maldonado, 21 of Syracuse, NY, was operating a vehicle while smoking Marijuana, and while there was a 1 year old child in the back seat. It was also found that the child was not properly restrained in a child safety seat. Maldonado was charged with the following: - Endangering the Welfare of a Child (A Misdemeanor). - Unlawful Possession of Marihuana (Violation). - Improper Restraint on Child Passenger (Infraction). Maldonado was released on an Appearance Ticket and is due to return to the Town of Dewitt Court on June 6, 2018.

On May 16, 2018, Dewitt Police Officers responded to UPS located on Northern Boulevard regarding a Larceny Investigation. It is alleged that the suspect, Demetrius Wilson, 24 of Syracuse, NY, had stolen numerous packages from the business, where he was employed. The total value of the property stolen was in excess of $7,000. Wilson was charged with the following: - Grand Larceny 3rd (D Felony) - Criminal Mischief 4th (A Misdemeanor) Wilson was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.

On May 19, 2018 at about 10:25 a.m., Dewitt Police Officers responded to an address on W. Ellis St. in the Village of East Syracuse for a Domestic With a Weapon call. Upon investigation, it was alleged that the suspect, Shayne Moran, 37 of Baldwinsville, NY was in possession of a butchers knife and lunged at the victim with the knife during a domestic incident. Moran was charged with the following: - Criminal Possession of a Weapon 3rd (D Felony) - Menacing 2nd (A Misdemeanor) Moran was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.

Arrest Reports:

After receiving numerous citizen tips regarding the pictured dog, the DeWitt Police Department was able to locate the dog and reunite him with his owners. The investigation is continuing.

On May 10th 2018 the Town of DeWitt Police department teamed up with Manlius Pebble Hill School and presented at their Stop DWI and Distracted Driving Night. There was a representative from the Onondaga County DA's Office, as well as a guest speaker. The guest speaker is named Amy Terpening, and she was the victim of a DWI hit and run crash in 2009. Amy was left to die on the side of the street with her friend who had also been hit by the vehicle that drove away without calling 911. Amy's story was extremely moving and we are so happy we were able to be a part of the audience. Thank you to all who attended.

Weekly Arrests:

The DeWitt Police Department is currently investigating a shooting with injuries that occurred on 5/6/2018 at approximately 4:20 AM, while on Thompson Rd. near Erie Blvd E. in the Town of DeWitt. The victim, Emmanuel Aguaya of Syracuse NY, was shot once in the back. The vehicle Aguaya was an occupant of, a blue Jeep Grand Cherokee, was shot multiple times in the rear/trunk area. Aguaya has since been released from the hospital. This is an ongoing investigation, anyone with information should contact the DeWitt Police tips line at

Weekly Arrests:

On May 2nd, the Town of DeWitt Police Department participated in the Motorcycle Safety Press Conference held at Destiny USA. The DeWitt Police Department would like to thank Ingles Performance Inc., of Phoenix, NY, for providing the Town of DeWitt with the pictured Can Am Spyder.

Last week Ofc. Ammann responded to a call, and after she was done, she was invited to play baseball with some of the neighborhood kids!

On April 25, 2018 at about 7:29am, Officers from the Town of Dewitt Police Department located a hit and run suspect from another Law Enforcement agency's investigation near Shop City on Grant Boulevard. The suspect was identified as Michael Schnell, 53 of Syracuse, NY. Schnell obstructed the investigation and subsequently resisted arrest. Once in custody, Schnell intentionally damaged a window of a police patrol vehicle. Schnell was charged with the following: - Criminal Mischief 3rd (E Felony). - Obstruction of Governmental Administration (A Misdemeanor). - Resisting Arrest. Schnell was released to the originating investigating agency on Appearance Tickets and is due to return to court on May 7, 2018.

On April 18, 2018 at about 11:54pm, Officers from the Town of Dewitt Police Department responded to Highland Ave. in the Village of East Syracuse to investigate an Assault. Upon investigation, it was determined that Alexander Strauts, 52 of Syracuse, NY had physically assaulted a 76 year old victim causing them physical injury. Strauts was arrested and charged with the following: - Assault 2nd/Hate Crime (C Felony). - Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd/Hate Crime (E Felony). - Aggravated Harassment 2nd. Stauts was lodged at the Onondaga County Justice Center pending arraignment.

On April 26th 2018 members of the Town of DeWitt Police Department teamed up with the Bank of New York Mellon and assisted them with their family day! DeWitt Officers created Child ID cards and interacted with families. Thank you for including us on your special day.

The Town of DeWitt Police Department will be participating in the National Drug Take Back Event! Officers will be located at Kinney Drugs on Nottingham Road on 04/28/2018 from 10:00 am-2:00 pm! You can drop off any type of drugs that you have at your house that you do not use, and they will be safely disposed of.
