On December 19th around 9:00 pm the Cleveland Heights Police responded to a report of a robbery in the 2500 block of Princeton Rd. The victim reported he was confronted by two males with guns after pulling into his driveway. The suspects are described as two African American males in their 20's wearing hooded sweatshirts partially covering their faces. The suspects took the victim's wallet and cell phone. It was reported that a similar crime occurred on Charney Rd. in University Heights either shortly before or after the robbery on Princeton. The susect description is similar and the suspects were reportedly driving an older model maroon sedan. Neither of the victims were injured. CHPD is working with University Heights PD to solve these crimes. Officers are patrolling all neighborhoods in an attempt to locate the suspects and the vehicle used in these crimes. We ask that everyone remain vigilant while driving and always be aware of your surroundings. Keep your doors locked and do not leave valuables in your cars. Most importantly, if you see or hear something suspicious, do not hesitate to contact the police immediately. We can be reached at 216-321-1234 or call 9-1-1 for emergencies.

Honoring Cleveland Heights K9 Officer Vin It is with great sadness that the Cleveland Heights Police Department must announce the passing of K9 Vin. A vital part of policing in this day and age is having a strong K9 Unit. Cleveland Heights is proud of our service dogs and their handlers. These service dogs are part of the CHPD family and when we lose one of them the entire department feels the loss. Yesterday, we said good by to our colleague Vin who had served the City since 2011. Vin was eight years old and died yesterday as the result of a seizure. Our deepest condolences to Sergeant Gideon and his family on their loss. Vin, thank you for your service and may you rest in peace.
