Good morning! this is Joe calling from the extended warranty service center. I see that the vehicle warranty coverage on your 1998 Yugo is about to expire, and I can get you set up right now with an all included extended warranty coverage on your vehicle. I received that call today, and this afternoon one of our Facebook Friends also alerted us, that they too, had received a similar call. My call came from a telephone number out of the Toledo area, and our FB friend's call appeared to come from Chardon, and yes, both numbers were spoofed, and they're SCAMs. These callers are after one thing, and it's not to extend your warranty, they want your credit card information. Don't fall pray to them! if you believe that you have become the victim of the car warranty scam, you should place a fraud alert with the credit reporting companies Equifax, Transunion, and Experian right away. You should also notify your bank, or credit card company, and you should file a report with the Federal Trade Commission (FTC). So much easier to just hang up on these types of calls!

Photo of Chardon Special Officer Ray Warner, circa 1951. Thank you to Captain R. Mike Warner, Lake County Sheriff's Office for sharing it with us. Ray Warner was Capain Warner's Uncle. Recording Chardon Police Department history is important to us, so we really appreciate receiving pictures and artifacts that help us to preserve our department history. Thanks again Captain Warner!
