The New Year's Eve weekend is coming up. We want to wish everyone a safe and happy New Year. Please enjoy your time with family and friends, and celebrate responsibly. If your drinking, don't drive. If your the designated driver, drive cautiously, as some will not take our advice and get behind the wheel anyway and put all those on the road in danger. The LPD will have extra patrols out all weekend to help ensure a safe and enjoyable weekend for all. Happy New Year.

Our thoughts and Prayers go out to Chief Brian (Odie) Robertson who was involved in an accident earlier today while on a fire run. Odie is part of our family and one of our brothers and we are there for each other. We wish him a speedy recovery and if we can be of any help to you or your family we are here for you.

The Logan Hocking Schools lock-out has been lifted. The initial incident that led to the lock-out remains under investigation.

In regard to the lockdown through the Logan Hocking School District. We received a report earlier of an unidentified male subject was overheard making remarks about discharging a firearm by a passerby. It was determined that the subject was not making a specific threat to any individual or entity, nor was individual in a location near any schools in the district. However, the School District made a decision to conduct a precautionary lock down until more information is obtained. Once again, there is NO specific or imminent threat to any school facility, the lock down is purely precautionary in nature.
