Junior Achievement of the Mahoning Valley in partnership with Kent State University/Trumbull Campus, hosted J.A. Inspire, an interactive career fair that introduces middle school students to career opportunities on Friday, December 15th. Over 250 seventh grade students from Bristol, Joseph Bader, LaBrae, Lordstown and Weathersfield schools attended this one-day event to learn about career options before starting high school. Junior Achievement of Mahoning Valley is dedicated to giving young people the knowledge and skills they need to own their economic success, plan for their future, and make smart academic and economic choices.

After a five-month investigation, the Warren Police Department Street Crimes Unit and the Tactical Entry Team was able to seize approximately 15 grams of heroin, approximately 10 grams of crack cocaine, 22 Suboxone strips, two bottles of codeine from a house on the 600 block of Lener Avenue SW in Warren. During the search warrant, a digital scale, packaging material and approximately $5,000 was also recovered. Tashi Johnson, the target of the investigation, was arrested and taken to the Trumbull County Jail. Johnson is being held on a probation violation which is a result of a prior drug conviction. Trick Or Treat 2017 October 31, 2017 The City of Warren will hold this year's Trick or Treat on Tuesday, October 31 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. Halloween safety practices, courtesy of the Warren Police Department: While trick-or-treating: Go only to well-lit houses. Do not enter a home unless accompanied by your parent. Do not talk to strangers along the way. Walk on the sidewalks, not in the street. Travel in small groups. Be accompanied by an adult. Bring treats home before eating them so your parents can inspect them. Plan your route and share it with your parents. Use flashlights and wear bright, reflective and flame-retardant clothing. Adults should: Make certain that hooded costumes or masks do not block vision. Accompany children under the age of 12 and Instruct children to travel along a pre-established route and establish a return time. Restrict trick-or-treating to homes with porch lights. Instruct children never to enter a stranger's home unaccompanied. Tell kids to bring home candy before eating it, and inspect all treats; if in doubt, throw it out! Decorate costumes and bags with reflective tape. Prepare your home for trick-or-treaters. Have FUN and be safe, we will be out patrolling 🎃👻😈☠️👮🏾‍♀️👮🏼👍🏼
