Our thoughts and prayers are with the family and friends of fallen Officer Jake Gutierrez today as members of the Bend Police Honor Guard participate in the memorial in Tacoma, Washington.

At noon today the Honor Guard did a short flag presentation to commemorate Sergeant John Lawrence. Thank you for all who attended to help us honor John's memory.

Today we pause to remember our friend Sergeant John Lawrence. RIP Johnny Law. We will always miss you and strive to honor your memory every day.

We all would like to say THANK YOU to the COCC Criminal Justice Club for their extremely generous donation of $500 yesterday! If you haven't checked out what this great group of men and women are up to, head on over to their page and give it a "like."

Our hearts go out to our brothers and sisters in Idaho tonight.

The team presented the National and State colors at this morning's swearing in ceremony at Bend PD. Welcome to our new officers!

Thank you Highland Elementary students for helping us honor Sergeant Lawrence.

We could not have gotten through yesterday without our brothers from the Deschutes County Sheriff's Department. Thank you all!

Yesterday, we laid to rest our friend and brother Sergeant John Lawrence. We are better people for having known you, Johnny Law. We'll take the watch from here.

On behalf of the Bend Police Honor Guard, we would like to share this photo of Sergeant John Lawrence with all our followers. Sergeant Lawrence passed away of natural causes after finishing his shift last Thursday evening. He was 43 years old. There is not enough space on Facebook to tell you all of the man John truly was: kind, genuine, an amazing cop, and one every one of us looked up to, regardless of rank. John also had a laugh that could get a whole room to join in with him. He was a dedicated father and husband, and leaves behind his wife Jennifer and his children Alyssa and Ryker. To John's family, we would all like to express to you how much we loved him. Please know that you all will be a part of our hearts and a part of this police brotherhood forever. Rest in Peace, John.

Our thoughts thoughts today are with the families of the first responders killed during the terror attacks on 9-11-01. We will never forget their sacrifice.
