NO SHAVE NOVEMBER We are a week in to our department’s participation in No Shave November! What is No Shave November? It is a web-based, non-profit organization devoted to growing cancer awareness and raising funds to support cancer prevention, research and education. Normally our officers have a grooming policy which requires being clean-shaven (with the exception of being able to have a mustache) but for the month of November, Chief Allison is suspending that portion of the grooming policy so our officers can LET IT GROW for a good cause. Those officers partaking in the relaxation of our department’s grooming policy have generously made a donation to the No Shave November charity. Visit https://no-shave.org/team/CentralPointPolice to view Central Point Police Department’s No-Shave web page where you can help us reach our fundraising goal of $1000.00 for the month. We will be putting up photos throughout November so everyone can see our growth, starting with these “before” photos taken last week. Here we go! Wait a minute… we should actually say, “Hair we grow!” #CentraPointPD #NoShaveNovember #Charity

If you are looking to work with our department as a Police Support Specialist, we currently have a position open for applications! Check out the below link for further information and get your application in by November 19th.

It's Halloween TODAY so how about a few Trick-or-Treating tips to keep in mind for tonight? If you plan to take your children out for a fun night of Trick-or-Treating, we would like you to be aware of the things listed below to talk with your children about. • Please be respectful of neighbors, and don’t go up to houses that are dark. • Trick-or-Treat in familiar neighborhoods. • Always trick-or-treat in groups accompanied by an adult. • Carry a flashlight with fresh batteries after dark. • Walk with your head up and be aware of your surroundings. • Only visit well lit houses. Don’t stop at dark houses. • Don’t enter any house unless you know the people who live there. • Don’t cut across yards and stay out of backyards. Respect other people and their property. • Don’t eat any candy until it’s been inspected for tampering under bright lights. • Avoid candy that has loose wrappings, is unwrapped, has puncture holes or is homemade. • Keep hard candy away from small children to avoid choking. • Carry a spare Halloween bag, in case yours breaks or you fill your original one. • Be polite and say, “thank you.” Report any suspicious or criminal activity to an adult or the police. Dial 911 for emergencies or 541-664-5578 for non emergencies. Be safe out there!

Happy Halloween! Come on down to our lobby before 5:00 p.m. to Trick-or-Treat! But if you’re out later, our volunteers and officers will have candy with them too so don’t be shy, come up and say “hi!” We can’t wait to see all the creative costumes this evening.
