WHAT: COFFEE WITH CPD WHEN: SATURDAY, FEBRUARY 10, 2018 WHERE: CARNEGIE COFFEE COMPANY 132 EAST MAIN STREET The Carnegie Police Department wants you to pull up a chair, grab a cup of coffee and get to know your local police officers. No agendas or speeches, just a chance to ask questions and voice concerns. The coffee and tea are free, the conversation is informal and informative and we look forward to meeting you! For the month of February, come on out and chat with Chief Jeffrey Kennedy and meet Carnegie’s new Mayor, Stacie Riley!

The Carnegie Police Department would like to remind everyone that under the new Libre's animal cruelty law, animal owners can no longer leave their dogs tethered outside for more than 30 minutes when the temperature is below 32 degrees. The penalty is severe and anyone convicted of a misdemeanor or felony offense for animal cruelty must forfeit their animal.

Carnegie Police Department would like to send prayers and condolences to the New Kensington Police Department and to the family of fallen Officer Brian Shaw. Rest in Peace Officer Shaw and thank you for your service.

CPD defeats a skilled team of teachers winning three out of four games last night. All proceeds from this exciting event will help fund the School Wide Positive Behavior Support Program. A Big "Thank You" for each TEAM and all who came to support a great program and cheer on both teams.

Missing Person - Located - Ms. Alice Puel was located and she returned home safely on November 8th, 2017. Thanks to everyone for their assistance.

WHAT: Carnegie Police Department vs. Carnegie Elementary Teachers - Volleyball Game WHEN: Thursday, November 9, 2017 @ 6:30 p.m. WHERE: Carnegie Elementary School Gymnasium - 301 Franklin Avenue Tickets are $3 for adults and $1 for students. All proceeds go to the School Wide Positive Behavior Support Program.

***It's that time of year again! 2017 Toys for Tots Campaign*** Carnegie Police Department is once again accepting donations at the municipal building for Toys for Tots. Toy collection has already started and will continue until the 2nd week in December 2017. New unwrapped toys may be dropped off in the bins located in the lobby of the Carnegie Borough Municipal Building, One Veterans Way, Carnegie, PA 15106.

IMPORTANT MESSAGE Due to the threat of inclement weather, Carnegie’s Annual Halloween Promenade is being moved to Sunday, October 29th. Registration is 1 PM at the E Main St. Bridge. Promenade begins at 1:30 PM. Prizes for best costumes in five age groups. Treat bags and a surprise for all who participate.

On Tuesday, February 28, 2017 @ 7:30 PM two individuals (pictured below) entered Family Dollar and demanded money. One individual displayed a gun. If you recognize the individuals or have any information pertaining to this robbery, please contact Carnegie Police Investigations @ (412) 279-4589.

On Feb 1,2017@ approx. 9:30 PM this individual entered the Carnegie BP Station and demanded an undisclosed amount of money from the clerk. The individual stated he had a gun BUT NO gun was shown. The officers of the Carnegie Police Dept would like to extend our sympathy, thoughts and prayers to the family, friends and coworkers of our fallen brother in Canonsburg, Officer Scott Bashioum. Well wishes and a speedy recovery to Officer Jim Saieva. Thank you to those who have taken the time to show your support and appreciation for police officers in these trying times.

FYI- Carlynton Homecoming parade is tonight. Starts on Lydia St., to Washington Ave and continues to Franklin Ave at Carnegie Elementary School. This means there will be long delays! Parade starts at 5:45, so please be patient if you get stuck. Thank you!

Traffic alert starting this Wednesday, July 27th- Campbell's Run Road to close for about 8 months between 7th Ave and Newell St. Please follow the official detour, which will be marked by signs going up this week.

Good advice - also the pedestrians need to watch as well and not step out into traffic while staring at their phones!

TRAFFIC ALERT for Saturday April 23rd-Due to the Annual Carnegie VFD 5K Race - Starting at 8 am to approximately 9 am the following streets will have closures/detours : West Main St, Mansfield Blvd, East Main St, parts of 3rd Ave, 2nd St., Jefferson St., Vererans Way, Cubbage St and Logan St. Use caution and except some delays until the race is over. Thank you

Our condolences go out to Sgt O'Malley on the loss of his K-9 partner Aren. RIP!

The road conditions in our area have improved significantly, however as the temperatures drop the roads could refreeze. Watch for black ice and slick spots- continue to use caution.
