100 Years of Heroes Project...From the Office of the Lt. Governor, Mike Stack... Mr. Salim Makhlouf, Director of Penn Studios, has reached out to the LT. Governor's Veterans Task Force for assistance on locating veterans for personal interviews on their service in the military. These interviews will be used for an upcoming project that he is developing to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Armistice Day. If anyone can recommend or nominate any veterans in Monroeville for this project, feel free to contact Mr. Makhlouf directly at 717-255-8470 or email: smakhlouf@pennlive.com. It should be noted that Mr. Makhlouf currently has a high number of WW2 veterans and is looking for minority servicemen and women that have served in recent conflicts such as Afghanistan, Bosnia, Somalia, Iraq, etc. Further questions can be directed to the LT. Congratulations on a job well done to our neighboring brothers in blue.

Do you have what it takes?

The perpetrators of the murder in Wilkinsburg have been apprehended.

It is with great honor that we recognize the many years of loyalty and dedication provided by our two most recently retired police officers: Officer Tom Vaughn and Officer John Beehner. We wish you much happiness in this next chapter of your life. "As we express our gratitude, we must never forget that the highest appreciation is not to utter words, but to live by them. May we live up to your example."
