Good Morning Residents: The weather models are looking as if the Wednesday storm is going to bring anywhere between 4-10 inches of snow. Bearing this- it is very likely that Borough of Spring City will be declaring a Snow Emergency. In anticipation of this, please start making plans parking your cars outside of the snow emergency routes. Snow Emergency means the Mayor authorizes the police to ticket and tow vehicles that are in violation. We do not like this part of the job, but in the interest of Public Safety it must be regulated and enforced. We will keep everyone abreast of developments.

Save of the day. SCPD responded to a residence in town today and rescued this loved one . Thanks to DeCordre Automotive and Performance with the technical assist.

On February 12, 2018 SCPD responded with Liberty Fire Company to the intersection of North Cedar and South Church St near the Highview Garden Apartments. A trash truck was fully involved in fire . Liberty Fire quickly attacked the fire and extinguished the fire . Approximately an hour later , when tow truck operators attempted to remove the vehicle, there was a re-kindle and the Liberty firemen immediately responded to the call again quickly containing the fire. Nowithstanding the certain perils associated with this incident the driver of a silver Kia drove through the fire scene through the signals of fire personnel attempting to contain the fire and control the traffic at the scene. The vehicle was stopped by SCPD at Poplar and S. Church St. Through investigation into this matter , the driver who was identified as Darnell Charles Hines was found in Possession of a large amount of prepackaged marijuana, a measuring scale and items for processing marijuana to sell. The subject was found in possession of a large amount of cash as well. The estimated street value of the confiscated marijuana was approximately $900-1000. The subject was arrested and remanded to Chester County Prison in lieu of bail. I ask all motorists , When you see a fire scene, tow scene, police scene, MOVE OVER. The job these responders perform is dangerous enough without having to worry about being struck by a vehicle. Special thanks to Chief Trego and his team. All identified persons are presumed innocent .
