Our thoughts and prayers are with the PSP Corporal, his family and the entire PSP Famiy after the Corporal was shot during a vehicle stop in our area. Suspect in custody. PSP Strong!!

Just a reminder to Front and 2nd Street residents, tomorrow Nov 7th is the first Tuesday of the month, so parking is restricted on the West side of Front St and the East side of 2nd Street from 0800-1000. Please make sure your cars are moved.

The Catasauqua Police Department will be participating in National Take Back Day Saturday October 28 2017 from 10:00 AM to 2:00 PM. Drop off will be in the lobby of our new headquarters at 90 Bridge Street. Park in front and use the Police Department Entrance. Please dispose of any unused or expired medication.

The Catasauqua Police Department is sad to announce the passing of Patrol Officer Wendy Brantley on Friday 11 August 2017. Wendy was retired from the Allentown Police Department and was employed by the Lehigh County Coroners Office and was a part time officer with our department. She will be missed by all that knew her and the entire Catasauqua community. God speed Wendy, until we meet again😪

After 41 yrs, the Catasauqua Police Department will be moving to our new headquarters at 90 Bridge Street. We will be operational at the new building on Monday 31 July 2017 at 0800 hrs. Our phones will be forwarded to Lehigh County Radio until Tuesday 1 August 2017. Temporary inconvenience for a permanent improvement. Thank you for your understanding during our move.

The Catasauqua Police Department will be holding a drug take back on Saturday, April 29, 2017 from 10:00a.m.-2:00p.m. at the Catasauqua Police Department headquarters. This an opportunity to properly and safely dispose of unused/unwanted prescription and over the counter medications. This event is for anyone to attend- even those who live outside of Catasauqua Borough. Please note that syringes and other sharps are not able to be accepted. We would also like to remind our residents that the Catasauqua Police Department has a medication disposal container in our front lobby which can be accessed at any time to dispose of unused/unwanted medications.

Today Officer Best spoke to the children at the St Mary's Church Pre-School about Stranger Danger when and how to call 911 in an emergency.

The Borough of Catasauqua had declared a SNOW EMERGENCY by executive order of Mayor Barbara A Schlegel effective Monday March 13 2017 at 6:00 PM. All vehicles must be removed from the designated snow emergency routes by that time or they will be ticketed and towed. Thank you for your cooperation during this weather event.

The Borough of Catasauqua has issued a SNOW EMERGENCY beginning at 7:00 AM Thursday 9 February 2017. All vehicles must be removed from the posted Snow Emergency Routes by that time. The snow emergency is issued through Executive Order by Mayor Schegel. Vehicle not moved will be ticketed and towed from the snow emergency routes. Thank you for your cooperation and please drive safely during this weather event.

The Borough of Catasauqua will accept applications for the position of full time Clerk/Typist in the POLICE DEPARTMENT until Tuesday January 17 2017. The position has a starting salary range of $14.57 to $16.00 depending on experience. Complaint # 16-11-3416 – Armed Robbery @ Catty Mart Gas Station; 547 Front St. Catasauqua, November 26, 2016 @ 0415 hours, the pictured actors robbed the Catty Mart armed with black semi-automatic handguns. Suspects were described as Caucasian or light Hispanic males. Suspects fled east on foot toward Pine St. with cartons of Newport brand cigarettes and an undetermined amount of cash. Anyone with information, contact the Chris Wittik, Catasauqua Police Dept. @ 610-264-1407 ext 22. Callers may remain anonymous.

The Catasauqua Police Department would like to announce services for K9 Jack who passed away this past Saturday due to a medical condition. A memorial service will be held at the Brubaker Funeral Home 234 Walnut Street in Catasauqua on Thursday November 10 2016. Calling hours will be 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with a memorial service starting at 7:00 PM. The public is invited to pay there respects to our fallen hero. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the Catasauqua Police Department K9 Unit c/o the Catasauqua Police Department 118 Bridge Street Catasauqua, PA 18032.

It is with great sadness and a heavy heart that I have to inform you all of the untimely passing of K9 Jack. Jack developed a severe medical issue and passed away early this morning. Jack served the citizens of the Borough of Catasauqua and the Lehigh Valley for 8 years and was to retire in a few weeks when his new partner Zora, takes the streets. Please keep his handler, Officer John Wiseman and the other members of the Catasauqua Police Department in your prayers as we go through this difficult time. RIP Jack's buddy. You served well. Rest easy, we will take it from here.
