The Norristown Police Department and the Montgomery County DA’s Office, began a joint investigation into the death of a male, located in an apartment in the 300 block of E Airy St. During the course of the initial police response, officers located items and materials, which resembled what could be construed as equipment to manufacture methamphetamine. Based on our protocols and in an abundance of caution, the Montgomery County Hazmat unit was alerted and the State Police Meth Lab Response Team was notified. The State Police team is specifically trained to investigate and deal with these types of situations. At 2:00 pm, the State Police determined that there was no meth lab on sight. Additionally, they removed all pharmaceuticals from the apartment. By 2:30 pm, area residents were permitted to return to their homes and the scene was cleared. Based on the investigation, it appears that this death was the result of a drug overdose. The name of the decedent is being withheld until the next of kin can be notified.

This male pup was found on Swede/Elm Street this morning. He was taken to the SPCA in Conshohocken. Please call (610) 825-0111 if you know his family. Thank you!
