The CRPD now has installed a "Safe Exchange Zone" at our station's main parking lot. This area is under video surveillance and can be used 24/7. Please remember to still use safe practices when meeting people who are unknown to you. Officers are available in emergency situations via the emergency phone at the entrance to the building. Last week this mother goose found herself a quiet place to build her nest right outside the window of our training room at the CRPD headquarters. We are anxiously awaiting the eggs to hatch any day now!

PUBLIC INFORMATION ON TERRORISTIC THREATS INCIDENT: Lehigh Valley Academy (Hanover Twp.) administration was sent information about a 13 year old student who made verbal threats to commit a school shooting. The juvenile specifically named two other students as targets. The threats were made via online Playstation gaming on Sunday 4/15/18 and the school administration was notified shortly afterwards by another student who heard the threats being made. On 4/16/18, prior to the school day starting, CRPD was notified of the incident and was able to locate the 13 year old male at his home. The male was taken into custody after an investigation into the incident and the charge of terroristic threats was approved by the Northampton County District Attorneyโ€™s office. The two named students in this incident and their families were also notified. No other students or staff are in any danger and the school is fully cooperating with the investigation. The school day was not altered and classes operated as normal. The detained juvenile is being held at the Northampton County Juvenile Detention Center in Easton, PA.

Public Assistance Needed - Pedestrian Hit and Run Today around 6:45am, a 88 year old male was stuck by a vehicle as he was retrieving his newspaper from the mailbox in front of his residence in the 4100 block of Hecktown Road. The vehicle failed to stop and left the scene heading east on Hecktown Rd towards Rt 33 and Palmer Twp. As a result of the crash, the vehicle's passenger side mirror broke from the vehicle and was left at the scene. Police were able to determine that it belongs to a 2007-2009 Chevrolet Equinox. The victim informed police that the vehicle was black or dark in color. Police are still working leads, but is also asking for public assistance to identify the vehicle and the driver. Colonial Regional Police Department is seeking your help in identifying the pictured female. On 02/23/18, at 1630 hours she was in Wegman's on Rt. 248 in Lower Nazareth Twp. and observed by store security concealing merchandise in a reusable shopping bag and attempting to leave without paying. She was briefly detained by store security before taking the merchandise and leaving in a newer model white BMW sedan with dark window tint. CRPD is looking for help in identifying this pair. They are suspected of stealing a victims' credit card and attempting to use it at the Target in Lower Nazareth Twp. on 2/1/18. CRPD needs your help in identifying a theft suspect. On 12/22/17 the victim had her wallet stolen from her at Panera Bread on Rt. 512 in Hanover Twp. A short time later multiple purchases were made using the victims credit card at the Target in Phillipsburg, NJ. The suspect from the purchases at Target is pictured below. She bought an Ipad and attempted to buy a second one but was denied. She is also a suspect in a similar theft and use of someone elses credit cards during the same shopping spree at Target in Phillipsburg, NJ. Update to a previous post looking for public help: After receiving numerous tips, a warrant was obtained for 43 year old Sandra Lubansky of Saylorsburg, PA as the suspect involved in this theft. On 12/22/17 she was arrested in Bucks County by the Newtown Township Police Dept. She was brought back to Northampton County where she has already waived her preliminary hearing on the case. As 2017 comes to an end, we want to wish everyone a happy and healthy 2018. We hope that you get to celebrate New Years Eve, but please plan ahead and be responsible. With options like a taxi, Uber, Lyft, or calling family and friends, there is no reason to be drinking and driving tomorrow night. We don't get the night off and we will be out enforcing the laws and looking for impaired drivers. Please have fun but be safe. Don't start the new year in handcuffs!

Yesterday Officer Laudenslager stopped by the Pediatric Cancer Foundation of the Lehigh Valley, Inc. and dropped off a check for $400. This money was donated by the officers of our department when they participated in No-Shave November.
